Thomas Chou is a partner of the worldwide partnership of Morrison & Foerster LLP and resident in the firm’s Hong Kong office.
Mr. Chou has an active corporate practice, focusing on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, private equity and debt financings, corporate restructurings, joint ventures and strategic alliances. Mr. Chou also leads the firm’s Asia-Pacific private equity practice in Hong Kong.

Mr. Chou’s clients include global private equity and venture capital investors, and middle market and emerging growth companies in the Internet, media, retail, consumer, communications, semiconductor, health care, and Cleantech industries. He is recognized by Chambers Asia 2009 and IFLR 1000 as a leading lawyer for Private Equity: Buyouts in Hong Kong and recommended by Asia Pacific Legal 500 for M&A in China.

From January 2002 until December 2003, he served as president and director of Asia Silicon Valley Connection (ASVC), a non profit organization that promotes entrepreneurial initiatives in Asia and Silicon Valley. Mr. Chou frequently speaks on current topics in private equity, venture capital and mergers and acquisitions for organizations such as the American Bar Association, Asia America MultiTechnology Association, China Venture Capital Association, and Hong Kong Venture Capital and Private Equity Association.
